30^th/31^th August, Saturday/ Sunday, 2008
Today we're off to Italy! It's somehow strange, the last time we went on such a trip was when we were in the tenth grade. This is something totally different.
We all met at the school. It was getting dark by the time we arrived. It was Saturday and 9:30pm. When I arrived, the bus was already there and there was a bustling around it's lockers as everyone tried to find a place for their bags.
It's strange how everything went so quickly; there was an unknown feeling of organisation in the air. The next thing I knew, we were sitting in the bus and had all found our places, and then we were driving off.
We travelled through the night, and it was freezing. I had forgotten to bring a blanket with me and so it was very uncomfortable. We watched to films and then silence crept in. Around about 01:00am we arrived at the Swiss border and had a break, before carrying on. It was beginning to get light when we passed the border into Italy. I can remember vaguely passing high mountains and through new landscapes.
At about 12:00 in the afternoon we had our first break in Italy and had the chance to discover the world of Italien motorwayservices.
We found it a bit daunting to be walking through a shop full of things of which we didn't even understand the ingedrients! There were a whole load of things that were very new to us, but we could see some familiar things, like Mento or Kinder Schokolode.
